What can be tokenized?
Treasurys, money-market funds, private credit, real estate funds, invoices, commodities, carbon credits, stocks, bonds, and other financial claims can be represented through token arrangements.
Evergreen Guide
Real-world asset tokenization can improve distribution and settlement, but the token is only useful if the legal claim, custody, redemption path, and market liquidity are real.
Definition
RWA means real-world asset. In crypto, it usually means a token or on-chain record connected to a claim on something outside the blockchain.
Treasurys, money-market funds, private credit, real estate funds, invoices, commodities, carbon credits, stocks, bonds, and other financial claims can be represented through token arrangements.
The key question is what the token legally represents. It might be a fund share, a receipt, a debt claim, a record of ownership, or only a platform balance.
Issuers, custodians, transfer agents, administrators, banks, oracles, exchanges, and legal contracts can still sit behind the token.
Due Diligence
Who issued it, where are they regulated, and what documents control the claim?
Who holds the asset, cash, securities, or collateral?
Can holders redeem, who is eligible, and what happens during stress?
Is there a real market or only a dashboard number?
Which country, court, regulator, and investor rules apply?
What fees, spreads, lockups, or transfer limits reduce returns?
Are audits, holdings, reserve reports, and administrator updates visible?
