Read household finance data before making a market claim
The Federal Reserve released its 2025 Survey of Consumer Finances on 9 October. Use the original release to understand household conditions, then keep any Bitcoin interpretation in a separate, explicitly uncertain note.

Read the middle and the average separately
The Fed reports that real median family income rose 7% between its 2022 and 2025 surveys, while real mean income fell 6%. Real median net worth rose 2%, while real mean net worth rose 7%. Those pairs describe different parts of the distribution; neither is a price forecast.
Notice debt pressure
The share of families with debt payments above 40% of income increased from 6.5% to 8.6%, according to the Fed's release. For a household planning exercise, that is a reason to examine cash flow and an emergency buffer before considering volatile assets. It does not establish an allocation rule for any individual.
Keep the survey's date in view
The survey describes family finances in 2025 and was released in October 2026. It is useful context, not a live measure of this week's spending, Bitcoin demand, or market positioning. Do not attach a current trading conclusion to it without separate, current evidence.
Try the three-column exercise
Make three columns: what the source measures, what it does not measure, and what further evidence a market claim would need. Put median income and debt payment pressure in the first column. Put Bitcoin price direction in the second. In the third, name a current source and a falsifiable question before writing any interpretation.
