Source foundation

Bitcoin transactions are public; an address does not guarantee anonymity. Bitcoin: protecting your privacy.

A worked example

A draft replaces a wallet address but retains an exact purchase time, shop name, and personal photograph. Those details are irrelevant to explaining the calculation. A revised draft uses a fictional shop and a rounded hypothetical timeline, explicitly saying that no real payment is being documented.

Original hypothetical example. Amounts, people, events, and scenarios above are invented for learning; they are not historical observations or forecasts.

What to take from it

Anonymizing a single field does not automatically anonymize a narrative.

Try it on paper

Review a practice paragraph for unnecessary personal context.

Keep the assumptions beside your answer. Check the result before applying the idea to a different situation.
